The Apptoto platform includes a wide variety of ways in which you can message your clients - some are fully automated, and some require manual input. Our credit system is split between these two methods, and offers unlimited manual messaging for select subscription plans. To clarify what counts as a manual message vs automatic for these specific subscriptions, we've compiled this comprehensive list of all possible message scenarios.
Manual messages (messages we do not count towards credits) include:
- Messages sent from the “Compose” button on the Agenda view. Including “Send Later” messages.
- Messages sent from the “Compose” button on the Inbox view. Including “Send Later” messages.
- Messages sent from the Participant window by clicking SMS, Call, or Email:
- Replies manually sent through the conversation view in the Inbox/Outbox.
- Replies manually sent through the conversation view in the participant window:
- Messages sent by clicking “Send” here:

Auto messages (messages that we do count towards credits) include:
- Any standard reminder/booking/followup automatically sent
- Any standard reminder/booking/followup scheduled to be sent here:
- Any standard reminder/booking/followup scheduled to be sent here:
- Any “Auto Reply” to any conversation that results in a message sent to the participant. EXCEPT the first “auto reply” for auto reminders/bookings/followups.
- Messages sent via Campaigns.
Other messages not counted towards credits:
- All incoming messages
